About Me

Stella Maris Catholic Weddings and Events is a small event planning and logistics business started in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic, ironically blooming from a decision NOT to coordinate a friend’s wedding! I ended up hanging out at the reception with the woman my friend DID hire, and realized, “wow, this looks beautiful, fun, and a glorious challenge. I can do this…moreover, I WANT to do this!”

I ended up doing a few weddings for free to challenge and prove myself, and to prove TO myself that I loved it enough to do it. With each event I found out that every part of my professional background and experience, from hotel sales and reservations, to supervisory roles, admin and data organization, and my original degree in Fine Arts all culminated in project management for events.

Regardless of the event, I encourage you to make your personal relationship with Christ the foundation of your end goal. If you love Christ, you will others better. And if you love others well, your event will be a happy, joyful witness to the world. May God the Father bless you during this time of preparation and fill you with his love, and may the Blessed Mother help you grow in intimacy with her son.

Besides owning and managing Stella Maris, Lauren works at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano, Texas, as their Coordinator of Adult Ministry. She runs most of the adult faith formation studies, groups and series, RCIA and Adult Sacrament Prep. In her spare time, Lauren loves to garden, write, hike, and explore new places.
